GSOV's third presentation is the Australian premier of this playful adaptation of Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol with musical gems from the Gilbert & Sullivan operas, and clever new lyrics from Gayden Wren (Entertainment Editor, New York Times.) Includes favourite music from The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, HMS Pinafore, Iolanthe, The Yeomen of the Guard, Patience, Ruddigore and more. The show will be accompanied by a live trio or quartet.
Gayden Wren is a New York-based Arts Editor at The New York Times and a passionate G&S fan. As well as a playwright and director, he is the author of “A Most Ingenious Paradox: The Art of Gilbert & Sullivan” (Oxford University Press, 2002), and “Very Truly Yours, Gilbert & Sullivan“.
